Elliott (2013; Elliott, Rodgers, & Stephen, 2014), and Shahar (2014) developed and studied treatments of social anxiety, whereas Timulak (2015) and Watson and Greenberg (2017) have done so for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD).،We then discuss the benefits of incor- porating forgiveness therapy into the treatment of generalized anxiety dis- order (GAD), panic disorder, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
[DSM-5]; American Psychiatric Association, 2013) lists irritability as one of the six symptoms associated with the diagnosis of GAD, the evalu- ation of anger and hostility in anxiety disorders has received little attention.
Numerous studies have shown that excessive anger is comorbid with anxiety disorders, includ- ing GAD, social phobia, OCD, panic disorder and PTSD (Barrett, Mills, & Teesson, 2013; Deschenes, Dugas, Dugas, Francalanza, & Koerner, 2012; Gould et al.
In contrast to revenge, healthy assertiveness in association with forgive- ness is an important aspect of the treatment of those with GADs.
A number of men with GAD related to their work identify a lack of confidence as a major factor in their vulnerability to excessive anxi- ety.،The Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS; Schopler, Reichler & Renner, 1988) is one of the most commonly used instruments by clinicians in the field due to its ease of administration, while school psychologists are most likely to use the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS; Gil- liam, 1995) and the Gilliam Asperger's Disorder Scale (GADS; Gilliam, 2001) because both scales have available forms for teachers as well as parents.
Research has demonstrated that there is a significant increase in disorder prevalence during adolescence for several psychological disorders, includ- ing anxiety disorders (panic disorder, generalized anxiety disorder) and depressive disorders (Costello, Mustillo, Erkanli, Keeler & Angold, 2003).
The anxiety disorders, in order of presentation in the DSM-5 include: separation anxiety disorder, selective mutism, specific phobia, social anxiety disorder (social phobia), panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder and anxiety disorder other specified or unspecified.
